1. Dialog in Engleza - Romana, (audio si text)

1.1. Citiți textul cu glas tare.



”Hey, John, could you lend me your notes for the Finance class? I left behind and I'd like to be prepared for the next class.”
”Sure. But they're at home. If you want, you could come with me after classes.”
”OK. Do you live far from here?”
”Just 5 minutes away. Or, if you want, I could bring them tomorrow at school.”
”No. I'd prefer to copy them this evening. Tomorrow I have something else to do. Do you mind if I follow you home?”
”Not at all. Be my guest.”
”So, where do you live?”
”I live with my brother on Liberty Street. We rented an appartment. Do you know where it is?”
”I think you turn right across that clothing store, New Yorker, on King's Street.”
”Yeah, that's it. Right on the corner, there's a supermarket. We live near by. ”
”I know that neighbourhood. My cousin lives a couple of streets further.”
”That's perfect. That means you'll come visit more often.”
”Sure, if you don't mind.”
”Not at all. My brother is never home. So, I'll see you at three o'clock?”
”Yes. I'll wait you at the gate.”


1.2. Traducerea textului:


-John, ai putea să îmi împrumuţi notiţele tale de la ora de Finanţe? Am rămas în urmă şi aş vrea să fiu pregătit ora următoare.
-Sigur. Dar sunt acasă. Dacă vrei poţi să vii cu mine după ore.
-OK. Stai departe?
-La 5 minute de aici. Sau, dacă vrei, le pot aduce mâine la şcoală.
-Nu. Aş prefera să le copii în seara asta. Mâine am altceva de făcut. Te superi dacă vin cu tine acasă?
-Deloc. Chiar te rog.
-Aşadar, unde stai?
-Locuiesc cu fratele meu pe Strada Libertăţii. Am închiriat un apartament. Ştii unde vine?
-Cred că faci dreapta vis-a-vis de magazinul acela de haine New Yorker, pe Strada Regelui.
-Da, aceea e. Chiar pe colţ e un supermarket. Stăm acolo, aproape.
-Cunosc cartierul. Verişorul meu stă câteva străzi mai departe.
-Perfect. Asta înseamnă că ai să vii în vizită mai des.
-Sigur, dacă nu te superi.
-Deloc. Fratele meu nu e niciodată acasă. Atunci, ne vedem la 3?
-Da. Te aştept la poartă.

 far - further = departe – mai departe
 away = la o distanţă/depărtare de...
 to bring = a aduce
 tomorrow = mâine
 to follow = a urma, a însoţi
 Do you mind? = Te superi? Te deranjează?
 Be my guest! = Chiar te rog!
 Not at all. = Deloc
 to rent = a închiria
 to turn = a coti, a răsuci, a întoarce
 right – left = dreapta – stânga
 across = peste (drum), vis-a-vis
 clothes/clothing = îmbrăcăminte, haine
 store = magazin
 corner = colţ
 near (by) = aproape, lângă
 neighbourhood = cartier
 to mean = a însemna
 often = des, deseori
 never = niciodată
 gate = poartă

2.1. Alcătuiţi propoziţii cu următoarele cuvinte: lend, behind, tomorrow, store and often.
2.2. Redaţi în limba engleză antonimele cuvintelor: în spate; la dreapta; des; niciodată; departe.
2.3. Completaţi spaţiile libere:

c) Colegul său va merge cu John acasă.
d) John locuieşte pe strada Libertăţii, o stradă pe care colegul său o ştie.
